Aviation Foundation

Our Foundation Mission:

The Chapter 838 Aviation Foundation provides financial resources to support the mission of EAA Chapter 838 by:

    • Providing and facilitating scholarships for deserving area students who wish to pursue an aviation related course of study at an accredited U.S. technical school, college, or university;
    • Providing and facilitating scholarship funding for deserving high school age boys and girls to attend the EAA Air Academy summer aviation workshops and seminars in Oshkosh, Wisconsin Supporting Aviation Explorer Post 218, a co-ed scouting program, in its efforts to interest area teenagers in aviation and
    • Providing the financial resources and guidance to sustain Chapter 838, its facilities and programs.

Foundation Scholarships:

The EAA Chapter 838 Aviation Foundation Scholarship Program encourages, recognizes, and supports deserving Southeastern Wisconsin students who are pursuing an aviation related education. Applicants must be well rounded and involved in school, community, and aviation activities. Academic records must show a high probability that applicants will successfully complete the educational activity for which the scholarship will be provided.

In 2019, the Chapter 838 Foundation awarded two flight training scholarships to deserving high school students. One of those students is planning to go to college to study aviation, and is deferring his scholarship for one year. Because of this, a third scholarship this year was awarded as well to a youth who is studying to obtain their certification as a Sport Pilot. In 2021-2022, so far, the Foundation has awarded six scholarships both to young people striving to earn their Private Pilot's license and to Aviation Mechanics students.
