Jon Brocksopp puts on the VR goggles to have a go...Have you ever wondered what it would feel like to sit in the "office" of a 737? Has flying one of the commercial jets been a dream, or even a curiousity of yours? Now is the time to check that item off your list. EAA Chapter 838 will be paying a visit this month to EFS, or Extreme Flight Simulation in Gurnee, IL where they have a fully functional 737 training simulator, and staff to help you out. You go through an entire short flight - take off, level, land - in the space of a few minutes, actually controlling the "plane." It is an exhilirating feeling, especially if you execute a smooth landing!

This field trip will be on Nov.18th in the place of our monthly fly-out and registration is required in advance. The experience includes a chance at the 737 simulator, the F-18 simulator as well as a visit to their VR lounge to try out any one of those programs.

The cost of this trip is $100, and includes all of the excitement mentioned above, as well as lunch at Portillos. We have booked 8-half hour time slots beginning at 9:30 that morning. If there are more than eight people interested, we will either extend our day or add a second date. Advance registration is required for this trip. The registration form can be reached by clicking here.
